Food and Farming in Europe has to change: current food and farming policies do not deliver healthy food. Our soils, air and water are polluted by intensive agriculture. The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) of the European Union should support quality food production, environmentally friendly farming methods and fair trade.

Friends of the Earth are campaigning for sustainable agriculture and real food. Join in and help us get the message across to politicians.

FoEE's vision of sustainable agriculture:

  • safe, healthy, nutritious quality food (pesticide free and gm free) at a fair price for both consumers and farmers
  • responsible methods of production that promote environmental protection and improve animal welfare
  • conservation of natural resources in particular water, soil and agricultural biodiversity
  • a quality of life for small/medium size farmers in order to preserve a socially, environmentally and economically viable countryside respecting the multi-functionality of agriculture and rural life
  • fair trade with third countries in line with principles of sustainable agriculture
