Brussels, 10 January 2008 - Swedish car manufacturer, Saab was today told to stop portraying its cars as environmentally friendly or face legal action for misleading advertising.
A summons , instigated by Friends of the Earth Europe and delivered by bailiff to Saab's Belgian office, calls on the company to remove all wording and imagery from its website and brochures which associate its cars with nature or the protection of the environment. It must also withdraw false claims that driving a Saab reduces CO2 emissions.
Bali (Indonesia)/Brussels (Belgium), December 15 - The United Nations climate talks in Bali reached an agreement today, but Friends of the Earth Europe has expressed disappointment at the weak content, following many attempts to derail the talks by the United States, Japan and Canada.

Brussels, 30th November - Friends of the Earth Europe today brought together Members of Parliament (MPs) from Belgium, Germany, France, the UK and the Netherlands, who declared their commitment to introducing aviation fuel tax on flights between north-western European countries. Politicians caught a Thalys train from Schipol to Antwerp, where they took part in a ceremonial signing of the declaration. 
Brussels, 30 November 2007 - Friends of the Earth Europe has demanded strong leadership by European governments at next week's United Nations climate conference in Bali, Indonesia from 3-14 December. In Bali, governments will begin to negotiate the international obligations on climate change for after 2012, when the first commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol expires.
Strasbourg, November 13 - Friends of the Earth Europe has urged MEPs to support proposals to strengthen EU plans to cut aviation's climate impacts in a crucial vote in Strasbourg today (Tuesday 13 November) .
Strasbourg/Brussels, 13 November 2007 - EU plans to tackle aviation's increasing climate change impacts through the Emissions Trading Scheme remain inadequate after MEPs failed to significantly strengthen European Commission proposals in Strasbourg earlier today (13 November) . Aviation is the fastest growing source of carbon dioxide in Europe, and failure to cut it will seriously jeopardise EU plans to cut European emissions by 30 per cent by 2020.
On 12-17 November a synthesis report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will be adopted and approved by governments in Valencia, Spain.
