Friends of the Earth Europe (FoEE) is looking to recruit an
Intern/Stagiaire for its Feeding and Fuelling Europe project
Deadline: September 7th 2008
Friends of the Earth Europe is looking for an intern/stagiaire to assist our Feeding and Fuelling Europe project. The project is an awareness raising campaign on how unsustainable meat consumption and transport in Europe results in the mass monoculture of soy and other crops in Southern countries for animal feed and agrofuels. These monocultures are unsustainable and cause social and environmental damage in the regions and communities where they are grown. Many of the crops grown are genetically modified.
Working alongside the campaign coordinators, the intern will help to:
* coordinate the campaign with member groups and partner NGOs
* monitor GMO, farming and agrofuels issues at the EU institutions
* organise and distribute relevant information to member groups and the wider NGO network, including website updating
* support the daily work of the campaign.
The intern would:
* have excellent organisational skills
* be fluent in English
* have good knowledge of GMO and/or agrofuels and/or farming issues
* have background in NGO or voluntary activities and have knowledge of EU politics
* love unexpected situations
* knowledge of another EU language would be welcome.
The internship ideally starts in October and lasts for one year, working 5 days per week. The intern will be based in our office in Brussels.
Friends of the Earth Europe will pay a monthly contribution to living costs.
Only candidates selected for interview will be contacted, by end Friday 12th September. Thanks for your understanding.
Interviews will be conducted between 22nd and 26th September in Brussels.
If you are interested, please send an email letter, explaining your background and motivation, with an attached CV, to: intern@foeeurope.org
