17-21 September, Malmö, Sweden - www.esf2008.org

From 17th to 21st September 2008 the European Social Forum (ESF) is being held in Malmö, in the south of Sweden. More than 20,000 people are expected to participate in the forum, which is a meeting place for social movements in Europe. During the five days, seminars and workshops will be mixed with culture, music, activism and demonstrations.

Friends of the Earth will be present and visible at the ESF this year. See the activities here.

16-21 September, Malmö, Sweden - Youth camp by Young FoEE and Via Campesina

From the 16th to 21st September, Young Friends of the Earth Europe along with the Young Via Campesina in Europe are organsising and hosting a youth camp alongisde the ESF. The camp will bring together 200 young people from all over Europe, to live, work and learn together on the crucial and interlinked issues of food, farming and climate change.

The Youth camp at the ESF is the first part of the Young FoEE 2008 project: Countdown to Poz`n`Hagen: The Young Friends of the Earth Climate. Young FoEE will bring 50 young people from across Europe to prepare young people for the next international climate negotiations in Poland 2008 and Denmark 2009.
