Marches against biotech giant Monsanto are being planned in over 250 cities across six continents this Saturday 25th May, to protest the corporate's attempts to monopolise food systems, spread GMOs, and intimidate communities while lobbying politicians. Our friends at 350.org have put together the great new documentary "Do the Math", being screened at house-parties and screenings around the world on 16th May. The Do the Math documentary is a 42-minute film about the rising movement in the United States to change the terrifying maths of the climate crisis and challenge the fossil fuel industry. While it is set in the United States, the maths the film outlines apply globally - making it important for all of us to watch.
After each of our events, we like to collect reflections from some of the participants on how the event was and what they experienced, to share these impressions with more people via our website. This time, Richard Sagar writes about his experience of our recent YFoEE network gatehring, which took place in Croatia from 11th- 15th April.
Richard is a member of Young Friends of the Earth England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and is a newly elected member of the YFoEE Steering Group.
Three international participants were invited to join Young Friends of the Earth Europe (YFoEE) at their Network Gathering meeting in Croatia (11th – 15th April 2013) to learn from the network, to share their group's work and to make links towards strengthening solidarity between grassroots environmental groups across the globe.
