Young Friends of the Earth Europe is back from another of our annual Network Gathering's! This year over 30 people from 19 countries joined us for an inspiring and action packed four days, hosted by our friends from Pro Natura Jugend in Switzerland.

The Annual Network Gathering is Young Friends of the Earth Europe's main decision making event, bringing up to 30 representatives from our member groups together to meet and discuss campaign plans and long term strategies for the whole Young Friends of the Earth Europe network. The gathering is also the place for groups to get to know each other, share plans and make connections. This year we're very happy to be hosted by our Young Friends of the Earth group in Switzerland.

Young Friends of the Earth Europe Summer Camp 2012

Every year Young Friends of the Earth Europe organises our summer camp to bring together activists from local and national Young Friends of the Earth groups from across Europe. This year we're excited to announce that it will be taking place from 14-19th August at the As Corcerizas environmental education centre, near Ourense, Spain. The centre is run by Friends of the Earth Galicia, and it's located in the magnificent mountains of north-west Spain.

My name's Laura and I'm currently living in a treehouse I built, 17m high in a pine tree. Along with a small group of other wonderfully passionate people, we are occupying the forest which is the site of a future airport near Notre-Dame-des-Landes, France. We are building a campaign to stop the Grand Ouest airport– along with its highway, TGV train line and metropolis expansion. It's being greenwashed as an 'ecological' project, and like so many massive constructions, it's being undemocratically bulldozed into people's lives.
