The Countdown to Poz'n'Hagen
Young FoEE at the UN climate talks 1st-13th December 2008, Poznan, Poland
The Countdown to Poz'n'Hagen- The Young Friends of the Earth Climate Tour, is a project run by the YFoEE network member BUNDjugend, in Germany. The project started with a youth camp in Sweden, in September, and since has seen the 50 participants from 26 different European countries being trained in lobbying, action and media techniques and then take these to Poznan, Poland for the UN Climate Talks.

The COP 14 climate negotiations
Between the 1st and 13th December the 'Countdown to Poz'n'Hagen' group were in Poznan together with 500 other young people as part International Youth Delegation, for the UN negotiations to secure an international agreement to stop climate change.
For 2 weeks, more than 10,000 people representing governments, civil society, business and industry talked and talked and talked about the seriousness of climate change and urgency at which we need to act. Yet the talks failed to make any progress and come up with anything that will secure the future of our generation and very existence of many communities and countries on the planet.
Despite the doom and gloom of the talks, and the grey weather in poznan, Young FoEE and the International Youth kept busy with lots of actions and events, including the aerial photograph of 350 pictured to the left, getting countries to sign the survival pledge and 'safeguard the survial of all countries and peoples', as well as actions to try and strengthen the European Union's Climate and Energy Package.

Global Day of Action- 6th December
On the 6th December people from all around the world marked the global day of action against climate change with demonstrations and events, demanding urgent action on climate change and climate justice from the governments of the world who were meeting in Poznan.
Young FoEE, together with Solar Generation, The Federation of Young European Greens and lots of other international youth paraded the streets of Poznan dressed as clowns, with the message to political leaders to 'Stop Clowning Around', and instead take serious action on climate change.

Wrap Up Climate Change- 11th December
Nearly 2,000 messages were brought to Poznan as the YFoEE 'Wrap It Up- Act Now' banner, and presented on the day when Ministers arrive for the final days of negotiations at the UN climate talks.
The Wrap Up Climate Change action has been run in nearly 20 countries in the past 6 months, and the final installation attracted lots of media attention (from Reuters press agency and Channel 4 news in the UK) as well as Ministers and Government representatives from the UK, The Netherlands, Norway, Lithuania, Malta, Germany and Austria, as well as Stavros Dimas, European Commissioner of the Environment.
