Since 2015, Zelena akcija/Friends of the Earth Croatia has been involved in the national Refugees Welcome Initiative. Together they have been organising numerous activities to fight increasing xenophobia in the media and public on one hand, and police border violence towards refugees, criminalisation of solidarity and human rights activists on the other. In a joint guerrilla action last week, refugees' testimonies shook up Zagreb's citizens. Marija Mileta from Zelena akcija/Friends of the Earth Croatia and the „Welcome!” Initiative tells us the whole story.

More than 65 European and international NGO networks – including FOCUS/Friends of the Earth Slovenia – have written to the Slovenian Prime Minister Dr. Miro Cerar, expressing concern about the ongoing pressure on civil society and organisations in Slovenia that act in the public interest in the field of environmental protection.

Individual activists could be facing more dangerous conditions, according to a new report on Russian civil society published by Friends of the Earth Norway.

The report "Pressure towards Russian environmental NGOs" expresses concerns about the future of Russian civil society, following the labelling of a third Russian partner organisation of Friends of the Earth Norway as a "foreign agent". The Russian organisation Kola Environmental Center are involved in important cross-border work with Friends of the Earth Norway.
